DESCRIPTION:The 59th Birthplace of Speed Antique Car Show and Gaslight Parade will be Friday Nov. 25 and Saturday Nov. 26 in Ormond Beach. \nOn Friday\, November 25th\, The City of Ormond Beach will be hosting its annual Birthplace of Speed Gas Light Parade. Riverside Drive\, from East Granada to Casement Drive will be closed to vehicular traffic beginning at 5:00PM. The parade is scheduled to begin at 6:30PM. \nThe parade route will start at East Granada Boulevard and Riverside Drive. The route will continue east on East Granada Boulevard to South Atlantic Avenue\, turn right and proceed south on South Atlantic Avenue to Harvard Drive. Once at Harvard Drive\, the parade will disperse. \nThe events\, which are presented by the Volusia Region Antique Automobile Club of America\, are open to vehicles from 1988 and older that have not been modified — no customs or hot rods. \nVehicular traffic along the parade route should expect extensive delays. Alexandra Sorokolit Frankel is an American painter\, photographer\, art therapist.  Her photographic work focuses on the architectural landscape of New York City.  Jacksonville’s Juilanne French creates work in ink and charcoal that focuses on syncretism and how architecture establishes cultural identities. Bryce Speed of Tuscaloosa\, AL exhibits hybrid works of painting and drawing that address the relationship between place and identity. DESCRIPTION:The final trio of “Dinner\, Art and a Movie” events is scheduled for Friday\, Aug. 5.  The Ormond Memorial Art Museum hosts their Free Family Art Night\, followed by dinner from food trucks set up in the museum parking lot just south of the main building at 78 E. Granada Blvd. A great free movie at the Casements completes the evening. \nYoung artists chaperoned by an adult are invited to the museum from 6 to 7:30 p.m. to complete a free art project to take home. Then\, from 6 to 8 pm\, food trucks and frozen confections offer just what it takes to get everyone in the mood for a movie.  Grab your goodies and head over to the Casements lawn just one block west to stake out a spot to watch the Disney classic\, “Cinderella.” \nMice\, pumpkins and fairy godmothers give it their all beginning at 8:15 pm.  Bring your own chairs or a blanket and stretch out under the stars to make sure Cinderella lives happily ever after. \nIf it rains\, they may cancel the movie\, but don’t worry\, the art project and the food trucks will still be around to provide a happy ending. \nFor further information\, contact the museum at 386 676-3347.

SUMMARY:Cultivating the Wild
DESCRIPTION:Be apart of something spectacular as we auction off over 100 pieces of unique and original art to raise funds for a documentary on naturalist William Bartram. Bartram’s studies and book Travels\, has become a classic example of Floridian history and naturalism. The documentary will be produced by Daytona State College professor Eric Breitenbach and University of Georgia’s Dorinda Dallmeyer.  The auction begins at 6 pm.  Readings from Bartram’s work begins at 6:30 pm.  Visit the event Facebook page to see some of the pieces being auctioned and to place bids by phone or email.
