SUMMARY:OBE 100th Anniversary Family Celebration
DESCRIPTION:Come celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Ormond Beach Elementary School with a carnival from 11-3 on Saturday\, March 4.  Bounce houses\, games\, train rides\, food and more . . . \nOrmond Beach Elementary began in 1887 on land donated by Phillip Corbin\, a local businessman and the developer of the U.S. Settlement known as New Britain. Two schoolhouses sat on the property before the current building was built in 1917. Because of the stucco exterior\, the building was believed to be fireproof.   Over the years\, Ormond Public School became known as Corbin Avenue Elementary and then Ormond Beach Elementary. There are currently over 300 students enrolled in grades kindergarten through fifth grades.   The original auditorium and classrooms keep their history and are well cared for\, making Ormond Beach Elementary a well-loved local treasure. \n  \n  \n
