DESCRIPTION:Three veterans\, including a Florida congressman\, will be  eatured speakers Nov. 11 at the Ormond Memorial Art Museum’s annual Veterans Day observance. U.S. Rep. Ron DeSantis\, a former JAG officer and a Lt. Colonel in the Navy Reserves\, retired Marine Corps Col. Charles J “Chic” Schoerne and James “J.J.” Jones \, a former Army missile technician\, will be on hand for the talks starting at 11 a.m. beneath a tent in the museum’s parking lot\, just south of the gardens.\n\nAfter the ceremony\, guests will be invited inside the museum for light refreshments provided by the Pilot Club of Daytona Beach. Entertainment will be provided by the Bethune-Cookman University tuba and euphonium ensemble. Parking will be available in lots at St. James Episcopal Church and the Casements.

The painting from the farthest point west depicts Pillar Point at Half Moon Bay in California. The sister painting from furthest east is of the tidal marshes near Wachapreague\, VA.” \nThe museum\, at 78 E. DESCRIPTION:Local seafood leads the way at this year’s Riverfest Seafood Festival in Ormond Beach. The 9th annual festival sponsored by Ormond Beach MainStreet will have fifteen food purveyors serving up everything from fresh shrimp to grilled octopus and fried fish to lobster mac-n-cheese. Of course\, there’s a healthy helping of draft beer\, ice cream\, local barbeque\, fried oreos and kettle corn to keep every eater full and happy. \nThe festival is about much more than food\, however. Held in Rockefeller Gardens and Fortunato Park right along Ormond’s sparkling riverfront\, the event features two days of water activities\, a 5K race on Sunday\, an extremely popular kid’s fishing clinic\, chef demonstrations\, a kids’ zone\, vendors and\, of course\, great music. \nThis year the festival runs Saturday\, November 18 from 10 am – 6 pm and Sunday\, November 19 from 10 am – 4 pm. Free admission and free parking make it easy to enjoy the great variety of planned activities in both riverfront parks. A free shuttle service from the City Hall parking lot makes parking even easier. \nSaturday’s music headliners include R&B sensation Amy Alysia & the Soul Machine and local rockers Emperor Napolean & the Visions of Ecstasy\, along with the award-winning 12 O’Clock Jazz Band from Spruce Creek High School and Are We Electric. Jazz up your Sunday with Orlando’s Brown Bag Brass Band\, then cool down in the afternoon with Spiceman and the Sweet Energy Band. \nHead down by the bridge for kids’ crafts and games\, mini-golf\, a giant obstacle course and a face painter. In that same area you’ll find this year’s Kid Fish – sponsored by Fish Florida and Innovative Bookkeeping. We have 300 free fishing poles to give away to youngsters along with education stations and a fishing area. Once you’ve learned to fish\, you can pick up a pole and tackle to take home and enjoy. \nIf Rockefeller Gardens is the home of food and music\, Fortunato Park is all about boats and water fun. This year’s brand new boat and recreational “toys” display joins paddleboard and kayak demonstrations\, and pontoon boat rides along the sand. \nThis year we’ve got pie! DESCRIPTION:The Ormond Beach Historical Society is excited to present: Florida Stories- Ormond Beach as the newest tour offering for the Florida Humanities Council’s audio walking tour series. This fun event is the free launch party for the Ormond tour!  Please join us at 4pm at the Ormond Memorial Art Museum & Gardens\, located at 78 East Granada Boulevard for a short talk about the app and its development\, refreshments\, and a ceremonial download—then explore the sites and history of historic Ormond! \nDeveloped with a generous grant from the Florida Humanities Council (FHC)\, the Florida Stories Walking Tour of Ormond Beach is a free application designed to be downloaded to a smart phone or tablet.
