SUMMARY:Urban Watercolor Sketching
DESCRIPTION:Urban Watercolor Sketching\nInstructor: Stacey Fletcher Reynolds \nLearn to loosen up with the watercolor medium. We will be using a technique called Urban Sketching to capture a lose interpretation of our subject matter. In a guided process\, you will create a cohesive image using line to implement a sketch\, and then the watercolor medium to enhance the painting. All supplies provided; open to participants 16 and older. $70 (members) / $76 (future members) \nAbout the Instructor:\nStacey Fletcher received a Master of Fine Arts degree in Painting and Drawing from The University of Tennessee in 2003\, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Valdosta State University in 2000. She has exhibited nationally and internationally in many individual\, group\, and juried exhibitions. She recently moved her family to Daytona Beach to take a position as an Assistant Professor of Studio Arts at Daytona State College. As a cathartic painter\, Stacey’s work expresses emotions and frustrations that would otherwise be hard to express verbally. They seem abstract at first glace to the viewer\, but have some sense of childhood imagery disguised among the colorful layers. Her work is fresh with vibrant lively colors\, with layered metaphors of herself and others contrasted with the chaotic approach of the energetic marks.

DESCRIPTION:Frame of Mind Art Gallery is happy to host Bulgarian artist Georgi Andonov through August & September 2018. \nHis pop collection of portraiture and symbolism is a layering of realism\, color play\, and spirit. \nVisit FrameofMindArt.com for the collection.  \nGeorgi Andonov graduated from the National Art Academy in 1990. Three years later he opens Colo Tempo Gallery (1993-1995) and in 1996 his own gallery in Beirut\, Lebanon. From 1998 Andonov works with the largest lebanese art dealer Fadi Mogabgab Gallery. Interesting and impressive as an artist\, in 2003 he starts working with William Merill Gallery in Los Angeles (USA)\, and from 2007 with Boutique 1 Gallery in Dubai (UАЕ)\, Martin McNab Art Gallery San Diego\, Art stuidio “Mikonos”. In Bulgaria Georgi Andonov is presented by ANIMA Art Gallery. \nParallel to his work as an artist\, Georgi Andonov is involved with Contemporary Art Society – an organization that is founded in 2005 in partnership with Art Contemporian (Fadi Mogabgab)\, Beirut. Since 2006 the artist lives in Burgas\, Bulgaria. \n“I believe that art should express beauty and joy. There is a longing for romantic nostalgia in my work. \nI believe that each painting should be a distillation of reality rather than a direct representation. \nI am driven to render familiar images and present them to the viewer in their most extreme form. Each painting is a symbol. \nI want my paintings to reflect a feeling of timelessness\, choosing subjects devoid of any contemporary characteristics -monkey\, rose\, silent row of umbrellas on an empty beach. \nI am torn by the dichotomy caused by the uncomfortable bedfellows of my modern sensibilities and my respect for the old masters.”
