SUMMARY:Hillside Cemetery Tour
DESCRIPTION:The Ormond Beach Historical Society and the Angels of Hillside Cemetery\, a non-profit formed to preserve it\, will present the first-ever tour of the Historic Hillside Cemetery on March 4. \nThis little gem was created in 1896 on land donated by John Andrew Bostrom\, the first settler in Ormond Beach (1868). The cemetery entrance is now on Seaton Trail.  Original Ormond settlers\, veterans of every war\, and prominent present day family members are buried here\, many with unique markers. \nRe-enactors will tell the stories of residents such as Joseph and Mary Belle Price; George and Maria Sterthaus; Eldred and Sarah Penfield; Joshua Weeks and James Carnell. \nTours begin at 9:30 and 10:30 AM and tickets\, limited to 30 per tour\, are required. General admission – $12; $10 for OBHS members; $7 children 7-12.  Tickets can be purchase at the MacDonald House\, 38 E. Granada Blvd.\, or by calling 386-677-7005.
