SUMMARY:A Journey to the Sea
DESCRIPTION:Oil painter\, Stephen Estrada captures the power and fragility of the natural sea.  He equates his large-scale work with “stepping into liquid” and calls his work a “travelogue of the sea”. \n“Many of my paintings depict the waters and landscape of the East and West coast\, the Caribbean and the Gulf of Mexico. The latter paintings reflect the powerful effects of Hurricane Katrina where my daughters and I went for years to help rebuild houses after the storm.  They are reminders to me of our place in nature\, its beauty and its power to change our lives in an instant. \nThe Latitude 37 Series is a exploration of exact points along the 37th parallel across America from the Pacific shore to coastal Virginia. The painting from the farthest point west depicts Pillar Point at Half Moon Bay in California. The sister painting from furthest east is of the tidal marshes near Wachapreague\, VA.” \nThe museum\, at 78 E. Granada Blvd.\, is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily except holidays.  Weekend hours are noon to 4 p.m.   The luxurious gardens featuring architectural tributes to war veterans are open each day until dusk.\n For further information about the exhibit\, call the museum at 386 676-3347. SUMMARY:Gaslight Parade and Antique Car Show
DESCRIPTION:Join the Ormond Thanksgiving week tradition.  Come out Friday evening to watch vintage autos parade along East Granada Boulevard then see them close up all day Saturday in Fortunato Park. \nThe parade begins at 7 pm working its way eastward from The Casements.  Vehicles must be pre-1988 and original (no modified\, custom or hot rods).  Just find a spot on the sidewalk to watch the cars (many lit and decorated) go by. \nSaturday car show hours are 10 am – 3 pm.  Admission is free. \nTo register your car and find out more information visit the Volusia Region Antique Automobile Club of America Facebook page
